About this game & what it means to me
Anyone can fight monsters, that’s why stories always pick chosen ones, magical girls, or
fearless heroes. But what about the kids who don’t fit that role? The ones who mess up, fall
behind, or just don’t belong, yet still end up being the ones left to deal with it anyway
somehow? This story is about three kids: Neptune, Jupiter, and Venus, who are stuck at a
suffocating summer camp. But before they can leave, they have to survive one final test: a
long night alone in a remote cabin in the woods, waiting for the devil to arrive.
We Know the Devil was released in 2015, published by Pillow Fight, and developed by Pillow Fight and Worst Girls Games. However, I didn't discover this game's existence until about 2024. I actually discovered this game indirectly through my Homestuck hyperfixation, of all things. I had become fond of Phemiec through their Homestuck fansongs, and was listening to their music, and I found that I really liked one song in particular, Daughter of God. So naturally, I tried to do a little research into what the song was even about, and whatnot. I quickly found that it was based on the game "We Know the Devil". I looked into this game, and it seemed neat, so I bought it on Steam and played it. That started a whole new hyperfixation.
